Adipotide
Also known as FTTP
An experimental peptidomimetic designed to target the blood supply of fat tissue.
What it is
A compound pairing a targeting sequence for prohibitin, found on fat tissue vasculature, with a pro-apoptotic sequence.
What the research has examined
Animal studies reported fat mass reduction along with dose-dependent kidney effects, which is why it has not progressed in human research. It is one of the more cautionary entries in this catalog.
