BPC-157
Also known as Body Protection Compound-157
A synthetic 15-amino-acid peptide derived from a protective sequence found in human gastric juice.
What it is
BPC-157 is a lab-made chain of fifteen amino acids based on a fragment of a protein that occurs naturally in the stomach lining. It is one of the most widely discussed peptides in recovery conversations.
What the research has examined
Preclinical studies have looked at BPC-157 in relation to angiogenesis, tendon and ligament fibroblast signaling, and the integrity of the gastrointestinal lining. The majority of published work is animal research, and human clinical data remains limited.
